Evert Henke is the Non-Executive Chairman and Counsellor to the Founder and CEO of Tropix. Evert spent 30 years of his professional life at Shell Petrochemicals responsible for the oil company’s operations on a regional and international level, including an eventual position as its first global CEO. Evert has also been the non-executive and independent director of Sembcorp Utilities (Netherlands) NV, presiding director of Air Products & Chemicals (where he was recruited by our Founder and CEO), director of TNK-BP Ltd. and independent director of Rosneft Limited. In addition, he was a member of the International Advisory Board of CNOOC Ltd. and director of Outokumpu Oyj, as well as independent director of OAO TNK-BP Holding and Tate & Lyle PLC.
He also held management positions in regional and global industrial organizations such as the Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) and the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA). He was President of the International Long-Term Research Initiative, a joint effort between CEFIC and the Association of Chemical Manufacturers (now the American Chemistry Council).
Evert is a graduate of Cornell University and spent his formative years in Venezuela and Argentina.His serious and deliberate character, his sense of honesty, and his razor-sharp skills are a wonderful contribution to Tropix.
